Overview for Carbon Sellers

Sell tokenized carbon credits to Klima at a guaranteed price, with instant settlement. Quick payouts and transfers powered by USDC.

The full protocol and app are scheduled for release by the end of December 2025. The actions described below will become available at that time.

Klima offers the following functionality for sellers:

• Liquidate a batch of carbon credits instantly, at a guaranteed price.

• Secure your proceeds as USDC, which is a dollar-backed stablecoin that enables frictionless, instant global transfers, and broad support on hundreds of platforms including Coinbase, Circle and Stripe, along with major financial institutions such as JP Morgan.

• Alternatively, retain your proceeds as kVCM, then use it to access protocol yield and help govern the system.

This comes with the following limitations:

• Only whitelisted credits are supported at the moment - contact us if you think your credit should be added.

• Credits must be in tokenized form. Some registries don’t support tokenization at the moment.

• All sales are final. Once the credit is secured by Klima, it will be locked in the vault until retired.

• Prices can change quickly as other users make their own trades.

Klima is currently accepting credits originating from the following registries:

• EcoRegistry

• Puro.Earth

• Carbonmark Direct Issuance (CMARK)

We are evaluating full integrations with the following registries:

• Social Carbon

• International Carbon Registry (ICR)

• Rainbow

COMING VERY SOON: Carbonmark.com will make it easy to instantly liquidate your credits to Klima for USD, via digital dollars like USDC. Until then, this guide is for users who already know how to operate a blockchain wallet on the Base network.
